lake hiawatha exhibit

Over the spring and summer of 2015, artist and concerned citizen Sean Connaughty had collected 69 bags of trash from his neighborhood lake in Minneapolis. With help, he sorted and cataloged every item and decided to put them on display as a way to raise public awareness of the declining condition of Lake Hiawatha and to rally supporters for an upcoming public meeting. Five informational banners were created as an interactive component that urged individuals to take action and get involved. Participants were photographed with their own personal pledge to be posted online as a way to grow community support.
